What is your Mission Statement?

Launching Point is a self-injury support and resource center that provides awareness, information, and support to people struggling with any form of self-inflicted violence and support for their loved ones. We reach out to the community and nationwide on self-injury, addictions, and support for those that lost a person to suicide.

This is accomplished through:

• Providing Beyond Bandages, self-injury support group at our location and training others to begin a Beyond Bandages in their county.
• Finding an individual the appropriate form of self-injury treatment by providing resources for outpatient & inpatient treatment, therapy and/or counseling services.
• Provide a recovery program at our location for those who struggle with addictions, life issues, and relationship problems.
• Providing Left Behind, a support groups for those who lost a loved one to suicide.
• Educational meetings & activities for those struggling to overcome self-injury.
• Self-injury resources and support for friends and family of loved ones who self-injure.
• Informative meetings, written material and literature on self-injury and supporting a loved one.
• Self-help website

Who or what is your primary focus?

Whether it is a person who walks into a meeting, stops by to visit, calls for help, or sends in a frantic e-mail, that person is our primary focus. Our concern is meeting the needs of the person requesting help and providing assistance to loved onces struggling to understand the struggles of that person.

What do you offer at Launching Point?

Our mission statement says it best, but in short, we offer recovery programs and support groups, and written materials for those struggling with self-injury and their loved ones.

How did Launching Point come about?

Launching Point was created 5 years afer Vicki Duffy (founder and executive director) had been providing awareness, information and online support and 1 year after she formed a self-injury support group in NJ. Vicki sensed the growing need for self-injury support, awareness, family support, literature and resources. In October of 2006 Launching Point was incorporated and the following year in 2007, Launching Point was declared a 501(c)3 charitable organization.

Is Launching Point a Christian organization?

No. Launching Point is not a Christian organization. Launching Point is a charitable organization that serves as a self-injury support and resource center. We reach out to all walks of life and will help anyone in need regardless of background and/or beliefs.

Do you have t-shirts or any products?

Yes and No. We have had t-shirts and mugs printed with a variety of slogans and sayings (copywritten material) however due to budgeting constraints we are "on hold" with that. We currently are process of seeking a vendor that can create high quality products while offering them at a competitive price and still raising funds for our cause.

Do you offer any free items?

Yes! We have our "smiley face" pen, "smiley" wooden token, pamphlets and brochures that are provided as modes of encouragement and available at no cost.
