April 2009

I had been struggling with alcohol addiction for a very long time without being able to stop on my own. My business was suffering.  My relationships with my children were suffering. And, my relationship with my wife was at the point of ending. I knew that God had healed many people, why couldn't he just take the desire for alcohol away?

Through many circumstances, [none of which I wanted] I found myself at Celebrate Recovery, at Launching Point in January of 2008. I was scared and helpless. Little did I know that was where God needed me to be in order to heal me.  Going through the 12 steps was what God used to help me deal with the reasons why I felt the need to isolate and drink to escape. I found that God is interested in healing the reasons why we are hurting, not just the outward signs of our hurts.

This comes extremely late, but I can't thank you enough for allowing Lynette and I to attend your support group (to share).  What a lovely bunch of people you have there. Needless to say you have done a remarkable thing and should be very proud of what you have accomplished.  It truly adds to "everything happens for a reason and we are all just a small part of a great big plan".  If there is ever anything I could help with, PLEASE do not hesitate to reach out.  Again, I truly believe we cross paths for a reason.
Best Regards,
Caroline M.

May 22, 2007

I wanted to send an e-mail after the BSSI support group meeting Friday, but I have been so busy and haven’t had a chance to.  I just wanted to thank you for all that you do, and something about the meeting Friday really motivated me to get rid of anything I had in my house that I use to self destruct.  I can never throw them out myself, but while at therapy today, I handed my therapist a bag filled with all types of razors and sharp things.  I haven’t cut myself since before the meeting on Friday, which is really good for me considering I basically cut everyday last week.

Just wanted to say thank you!
Laura T.
